Devoted rapper, poet, motivational speaker, suicide prevention and mental health awareness advocate - Licy Be is a new artist on a mission, already lighting up stages with her raw tales of heartbreak and hope.  Hailing from New Zealand and based in Perth, Licy (pronounced Leecy for you non-kiwis) is gearing up for the release of her album ‘Beautifully Broken’, which features Aussie born Cook Island singer/producer, Tiri Boy, along with shows in Australia and overseas in support of it.

Set against a backdrop of contrasting smooth R&B production, ‘Beautifully Broken’ is Licy’s own personal story of relationship betrayal - where years of love and trust was lost to infidelity, resulting in an engagement for the cheating partner.  Amid feelings of disbelief and devastation, Licy did what she does best and put pen to paper and began writing her album that would end up being two years in the making.

Licy’s love of poetry and subsequent natural talent for rapping has culminated in a series of online videos achieving in excess of 100,000 spins.  A new milestone was reached when Licy performed at the Sydney Opera House in 2016 as a national finalist in the Australian Poetry Slam and has since gone on to support Rn’B artist Sammy Johnson’s sold out Perth show as well as perform to a 3000 strong crowd at HBF Stadium at Adrenalin last October.

Licy Be’s debut album ’Beautifully Broken’ (produced by Tiri Boy & Mastered by Rob Shaker), which features material that raises awareness about suicide prevention as she shares her own experience of overcoming such struggles through her faith.  This commitment to the cause has enabled Licy to act as a Lived Experience Speaker for Beyond Blue and she has had the support of Suicide Prevention Australia and Consumers of Mental Health WA in her previous work.

As the finishing touches are applied to a tour that will cover multiple cities across Australia, New Zealand and the USA with ‘One Life’ producer and Cook Island singer Tiri Boy who produced 4 of 11 songs on the album, Licy Be will continue her trajectory as one of the most promising female artists in Oz rap and R'n’B today.
