Lecrae wins a Grammy for "Messengers"

The award for "Best Contemporary Christian Performance/Song" has been awarded to Lecrae for his song "Messengers" off his #1 Billboard 200 album "Anomaly".  The track features Australian band for King & Country.  It was produced by Dirty Rice, Joseph Prielozny and Street Symphony. 

The song reached #1 on the USA national Christian Contemporary airplay charts.  In Australia "Messengers" has peaked at #4 on the TCM chart and #13 on the Hot 25 Countdown.

The other nominees in that category where MercyMe "Shake", Francesca Battistelli "Write Your Story", Crowder "Come As You Are", and Needtobreathe "Multiplied".

Lecrae was nominated for 3 Grammy Awards.

"Best Rap Performance" was won by Kendrick Lamar for "I".  Lecrae's song to his wife "All I Need Is You" was nominated in that category.

Smokie Norful's "No Greater Love" won the "Best Gospel Performance/Song."  Lecrae's collaboration with Erica Campbell for "Help" was nominated in that category.


Lecrae previously has won "Best Gospel Album" for Gravity in 2012.
