Andy Mineo's new album "Uncomfortable" got a good start in the USA. It was the number 1 independent album in the country on its first week out.
It debuted at #1 on the Billboard Christian albums chart and #3 on the Rap albums chart.
Billboards reports that the album moved 35,000 copies during its first week of release. Out of that 32,000 were pure album sales. It hit #10 poistion on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
On the US iTunes, it debuted at #4 and reached #3 on the overall chart.
In Australia's iTunes, the album debuted at #95 on the overall chart, and stayed charting for 2 days.
"Uncomfortable" is produced entirely by Illmind, who has worked with artists Kanye West, Drake, J Cole, Ludacris, 50 Cent, Ariana Grande, S1, Braille, and others. Having just the one producer has created a good cohesive sounding album, while still having a variety of styles.
Andy Mineo is on Reach Records and a part of the 116 Clique. His crew's name is based on Romans 1:16 with their motto of being "unashamed of the gospel". So it's really cool to hear that he's getting the Word out.
