Kennith Armstead Jr, popularly known as "Army," is a passionate hip-hop artist from New York. He founded Regime Music Group in 2009. Through his musical gifts, he has helped nurture numerous different artists from a variety of backgrounds. To date, he has visited several countries such as Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Tahiti, Belgium, Germany, and Romania, sharing a message of hope and inspiring others.
Army’s life hasn’t always been filled with endless tours and exciting opportunities though. He went through a period of depression, suicidal thoughts, and homelessness. This was due to watching his mother pass away from cancer in 2005 after watching her beat breast cancer in 1999. Losing his mother had a deep impact on Army, and he turned to writing and music to express himself, discovering that his story of finding hope amid darkness could help others as-well.
Part of the reason that Army turned to music was that he received Christ in his life and learned all he could about ministry and performing. He woke up at 5 AM daily to travel from Brooklyn to Queens to attend JHS 231. He had a date with destiny – to join the Nubian Gents, and he succeeded. Today, he credits this period of time in his life as the time when he found the passion and the drive to reach his goals and overcome.
Today, Army is still living his passion, performing in schools, churches, and jails nationally and internationally. He lives by the motto, "If character speaks, the world listens," and enjoys preparing young artists to change the world both through their talent and their character.
