Born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and now based in Middletown, PA, J.Solo is a Christian hip hop artist who recreates the nostalgia of 90s boom bap with a modern edge. He aims to reach the lost and uplift the body of Christ by sharing the highs and lows of life all while pointing it back to his Saviour.
Heavily influenced by both early Christian rap pioneers and personal tragedy, J.Solo’s lyrics come from real life experiences with grief, perseverance, redemption. From the loss of a child and the pain of divorce, to his oldest son’s victorious battle with childhood leukemia, every bar comes from a place of experience and gratitude. Now remarried with six children, J.Solo doesn’t shy away from life’s brokenness he proclaims God’s faithfulness through it all.
His music isn’t just for those who believe, it’s for the lost as well. One of his most powerful moments came when an atheist family member messaged him, saying they felt something special in his music and had been sharing it with others. For J.Solo, that’s the why: to plant seeds of truth through sound.
