ANU Voice Slam Showcase

All over Australia, a new generation of poets is emerging. ANU Voice Slam is a momentous evening of teenagers picking up the pen and taking hold of the microphone with passion, intelligence, creativity, honesty and power. More than 120 students from schools across the ACT have been involved in ANU Voice Slam workshops which encourage teens to express themselves in dynamic ways with their own words.

This showcase invites students to bring their best, and share their voice and unite. Special guest Miles Merrill from Word Travels Australia will be hosting the festivities – a legend of slam, pioneering Australia’s spoken word movement. With him will be students from Western Sydney who have been participating in workshops this year and recently performing at the Sydney Writers Festival 2014.

This is a free event, booking is strongly advised.
