It's time we got back to basics in Canberra.  The Next Movement is a series of events in order to bring the music back up, and inject some hip hop sensibilities into our town.  More opportunities for cats straight out of the bedroom, and those of us who have been hibernating.  You're part of it already, so here's your chance.

Pt. 4 will be on Thursday, April 4, and they've got a very talented local line up for you.  Please see below:

BRB
Born in the US, of South American heritage, BRB effortlessly combines a myriad of influences together with a laid back Aussie style.  Renowned for his spontaneity, freestyle skills, witticism and ability to entertain any crowd, BRB is a born performer.  BRB has been rocking the scene for more than a decade as not only an emcee, but a dj, producer, composer and teacher of R.A.R.E hip hop workshops.

SCOTTS
Scotts delivers an energetic and demanding show beefed up with live drums and bass.  He has played alongside numerous Australian heavyweights such as Bliss n Eso, Urthboy, Sneaky Sound System and many more.  The recent drop of his debut release 'Scotts Crossing' boasts 7 tracks of straight-up-and-down rhymes delivered in Scotts’ accessible, original and intricate style.  'Scotts Crossing' features the likes of many talented emcees and producers, including local heads Roshambo and Hayd, to name a few.

CITIZEN KAY
Originally Born in Ghana, Citizen kay moved to Canberra at a very young age.  Since then, he has been making his way into the music scene.  After teaching himself how to rap and record, he began producing his own beats.  With killer flow and years of experience up his sleeve, Citizen Kay has one hell of a reputation, having collaborated with fellow aspiring artists both Australia wide and internationally.

CODA CONDUCT
Coda Conduct is an engaging hip hop duo consisting of members Erica and Sally.  Their style ranges from laid-back, thoughtful and sincere to cheeky, upbeat and braggadocio. With dexterous flow and meticulously considered lyrics, this duo may be reasonably new to the scene, but is certainly not showing any sign of slowing down.

Roshambo will be on hosting duties and Old Skool Al will be on the one's and two's throughout the evening.  There will be an open mic from 8.30pm so be sure to jump up and show us all what you've got.

Thursday, April 4th. La De Da - 102 Emu Bank, Belconnen. Kicks off at 8pm. $5 entry, and strictly over 18s. Bring some friends along and enjoy it.
