Workshops in emceeing, DJ'ing, breaking, graffiti and Christian leadership, all at the Uprock Summit 2013. Nightly concerts featuring artists from 5 countries. A free park jam community day after park church on the Sunday.
Propaganda did his first ever Australian show. A great entertainer. He performed mostly from his latest albums. A spoken word about mobiles being too central to his attention. We got a new song off Propaganda's next album out in 2014. For us long time fans he dropped some of his older Tunnel Rats material and got the crowd to "Move!"
Propaganda was backed up by DJ Rhino from Indiana, USA. DJ Rhino also spun his own set of music beforehand, leading you through a story of where he came from, while hyping the crowd.
The night before we had Malaysian MC BigCow, a pastor who's part of Project Hip Hope and the new Krosswerdz Malaysia! The headline act was JustMe & Cas Metah of the Scribbling Idiots from the USA who did a split set, with a few joint songs. Expect to see the guys from SI in Australia again.
Great break dancers from around the world showed their skills on the night, including B'girl/boys Bonita, Silvia and Stretchmark.
Each night had some great Aussie acts supporting. Newcomer 17yo Jimmy Dregz impressed many. Solid established acts included Widzm, Rezadent, Izzy n The Profit, Shelly.H and more...
All the performers participated in workshops and some lead them. A great opportunity to either sharpen your art or learn a new skill. A great chance to build with others.
Josh Logan from Krosswerdz Queensland put together this great video of the Uprock Summit 2013.
