Now that we're done yelling (for now) we'd like to invite each and every one of you to the
TWENTY THIRTEEN
VOICE
SLAM!
This year we’ve been in classrooms all across the ACT, unleashing the power of rhythm and rhyme, and supporting the young people of our city as they express themselves in dynamic ways with the best words they can muster. This has been possible thanks to the support of Arts ACT and ANU Student Equity.
On the 23rd of August, from 7:30pm these students will bring their best, and battle it out in the ANU VOICE SLAM at the Street Theatre. Smooth beats, live art, and passionate bursts of language will tickle your spine and inspire your writing hand. We’re grateful to have the support and assistance of such a brilliant venue, and we would love to see you join us there. Special guest Miles Merrill will be joining the festivities – an absolute legend of slam, pioneering Australia’s spoken word movement. The night will be co-hosted by Will Small, founder of Voice Slam in ACT Schools.

PERFORMERS: Students interested in performing (grades 7-12) contact Simone St Clair (simone.stclair@anu.edu.au or 6125 7482) for sign-up sheets and further info. Poems must be under 3 minutes. There will be a dress rehearsal on the 22nd of August for those who can make it.
